Great little netbook, July 31, 2009 By S. Stancil
I ordered this netbook a few days ago after looking though many reviews and different netbooks. I was considering one of the Samsung N110 or NC10 netbooks because the specs were very similar to this ASUS 1005HA. A few things made me decide to go with the ASUS. First is the incredible battery life. I have not done an actual test of the full battery life but from what iv seen in general use it has around 9 hours while running wifi and other applications with around half screen brightness. The next thing that caught my eye with this netbook was the design. It is a very sleek and stylish netbook compared to the other ones I was looking at even though they all had nearly the same specs. The price for this netbook was also fair and the bonus sleeve that this netbook ships with is a very nice add on. I held off on the 2 gig ram upgrade until I saw how fast this netbook would run including simple games on steam. So far I have not seen the need to upgrade the ram since it runs plenty fast for a netbook.
In a nutshell:
Pros: Has a very long battery life, runs videos and multimedia smoothly without issues, fast loading, very usable keyboard, stylish sleek design, decent pricing for what you get
Cons: the glossy material attracts fingerprints like no tomorrow, the touch pad can sometimes be hard to use on vertical scrolling due to it being flush with the palm rests and the bumpy texture takes a little getting used to. The rocker bar can also be a little annoying but its not a huge issue with me.
Overall I have not seen many big issues with this netbook and would definitely recommended trying it out. I have not had problems with the AC adapter like iv seen in some other reviews and so far Iv been nothing but happy with this purchase.
